How much does an academic year in France cost? 

 

If you are an exchange student, or if you want to come to France to study temporarily, this is probably the question on your mind.


The good news is that in France, the cost of a year of higher education in the public sector is generally much less expensive than in most countries in the world!
To access education in France, you must first pay the CVEC, the student life and campus contribution, which costs 90 euros. 


In addition, if you come from a country outside the European Union, you must pay the student social security fee of 217 euros.
After that, the price of studies varies according to the university cycle: if you come from a country of the European Union or Switzerland, count approximately : 


- 170 € for a year of study at the bachelor level
- 243 € for a year of study at the master level 
- 380 € for a year of study at the doctorate level


If you are a foreign student from outside the European Union, the tuition fees are higher and amount to 
- 2,770 € for a year of study at the bachelor level 
- 3 770 € for a year of master level

In operation for 40 years, it is currently the leading French university in the field of health, with 45,000 students year-round and 85 research units.


Although multidisciplinary, it specializes in the fields of sciences, technology, health, sports, and education


The university has an impressive cultural and scientific heritage, including a geology collection with more than 10 million fossils, a herbarium with more than 4,400,000 specimens, and large collections zoology and mineralogy collections.

About the university 

Founded in 1878 by a group of lay Catholics, the Catholic University of Lyon is the oldest faculty in the city.

With a period building built near the famous Place Bellecour and a network of recognized and varied training programs (it is made up of 6 faculty centers, a management school, and 4 graduate schools), it is one of the most emblematic training centers in Lyon, and is distinguished by its humanitarian commitment and the reasonable size of its classes.

It welcomes some 11,000 students per year, including 1,000 international students.
