best websites to find a job in France

As the global spread of COVID-19 continues to restrict us to our homes, the social distancing guidelines are affecting people’s working lives in a number of different ways. Students are following online lessons and many full-time workers have stayed busy by working from home.

However, for others, the inability to travel to work has led to companies having to take cuts and let employees go. Whether that’s the case for you, or you are simply looking for a new job, there’s no excuse not to be monitoring job boards right now. Whilst some employers have paused recruitment, there are some industries such as medical companies and key worker jobs that are employing quicker than ever.

Whatever career you’re after, it’s important to stay active on job sites. At Mômji, we are one of the biggest international employers in France and we know where you should be looking for work. Here are the top 5 job sites to check for work during quarantine!

And if you want to join the Mômji adventure, don't hesitate to fill out this form online.

#1  Indeed

Indeed is a monster of a job site and hugely popular in France. It’s a worldwide set-up, so you may well have used the job-finder in the United Kingdom or your home country. Millions of jobs in France are registered on the site – a search for ‘English-speaking’ roles in France brings up over 500 roles right away!

Once you’ve typed your search in, a handy filter tool will allow you to sort the results by date posted or relevance, as well as the type of contract, salary and precise location. Think about setting up a weekly e-mail alert to stay on the ball.

#2 LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a vital tool for professionals looking for a job. Create a profile of experience and attributes, then build a network of colleagues and past workers. From here, LinkedIn will find roles that best match your profile and throw them your way. On top of that, building an e-network of contacts can often be a back door into a company!

The job search part of LinkedIn works worldwide and the links provided to apply will normally take you directly to the employer, rather than having to register your details with a third-party. If you do upload your CV on the platform, you can benefit from the ‘Easy Apply’ feature the site also offers on some roles.

#3 The Local France

If you’re an English-speaker in France, you’ve no doubt heard of The Local. The international news organisation has offices across the continent and have a specialist France team who work in the capital.

As well as English-language news on France, the website also pools jobs for English-speakers across several industries. You aren’t guaranteed the extent of coverage Indeed or LinkedIn may offer you, but you can be sure that your English speaking skills are sought after in these positions.

#4 Pôle Emploi

When strolling around France, you’ve no doubt seen a Pôle Emploi office. The French governmental agency registers unemployed people and endeavours to find them a suitable job. It’s been around since 2009 when it merged the ANPE and UNEDIC.

Pôle Emploi is a slick and efficient service of certified employers. Enter your region and browse all the openings available. Even at the moment, whilst in quarantine, openings are being frequently added to the site – so be sure to check regularly! For most of these roles, however, a decent grasp of French will be needed.

#5 Mômji

Whilst roles for babysitters and foreign-language teachers may be on a brief pause whilst the country cures itself from COVID-19, we’re fortunate to be in an industry that is set to bounce back relatively unaffected. As soon as life starts to return to normal, parents will be seeking childcare and, the need to learn English is now bigger than ever!

So, be sure to be registered at Mômji. It takes just two minutes to fill in a form and you can expect a phone call with an HR advisor shortly afterwards – our employment process is continuing unaffected!

From then on, the best thing is that we do the work for you! We’ll monitor your availabilities, location and qualifications to find you a family. Whilst everything is up in the air, our proven process seems an obvious choice if you’re looking for work!

At Mômji, our mission is to give the gift of language to children across the country. Ready to join the mission? Apply to become a Language Ambassador now!
