STUDENT JOBS IN TOULOUSE IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY

THE JOB:

To work at a hotel reception, you will have to answer the phone, welcome visitors and provide local informations. You must therefore have a good sense of contact and a good command of the English language. For this reason, recruiters tend to prefer international and bilingual or even multilingual students.

In addition, you should ideally have a flexible schedule: many reservations or customer arrivals are made late in the evening, sometimes at night.

HOW TO APPLY?

Hotel websites sometimes have a section with their job offers. If necessary, you can also approach the hotels by applying directly on site, with your CV and cover letter.

WHERE TO GO?

Choose the most touristy areas: most of the city's hotels are located in the center of Toulouse. But the Capitole district, the outskirts of the central train station, and the most emblematic places in the city (Place Victor Hugo, Place Jeanne d'Arc, etc.) are also full of hotel complexes.

WHERE TO GO ?

Toulouse has a rich historical heritage, and many cultural sites bear witness to the city's history.

Among the most emblematic museums of the city are:

The Museum of Natural History: a museum of natural sciences and ethnology that was completely renovated in 2007, in a very characteristic contemporary architecture. In addition to its rich collections of zoology, botany, paleontology and osteology, it has been endowed with a unique scenography, which makes it accessible to all.

The Musée des Augustins, created in 1795 (!) shows numerous sculptures from the Romanesque period to the 19th century, as well as paintings dating from the 14th to the 19th century. It is the museum of Fine Arts of Toulouse, and is housed in the former convent of the Augustins de Toulouse.

The Saint Raymond museum, or the archaeological museum of Toulouse. It contains many pieces from Greek and Etruscan art, but many objects from the Celtic, Roman and early Christian periods.

The Paul-Dupuy museum, which mainly exhibits a large collection of graphic arts and objets d'art covering the period from the Middle Ages to 1939.  It has important collections of ivories, clocks, ceramics, ironwork, furniture and silverware.

THE JOB:

In order to walk among the shelves of international libraries, you will obviously need to master at least one, if not several, foreign languages.

Applying directly there is generally the best way to get the recruiters' attention, unless job offers are available directly on their website, or on the website of the city of Toulouse.

The students' campuses and universities also have their own libraries: don't hesitate to visit the campuses of the University of Toulouse - III - Paul Sabatier, the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, or the University of Jean Jaurès to apply for a job!
