What a 2018 for Mômji!

As 2018 draws to a close, it’s time to look back on everything that Mômji has done over the past 12 months. We’ve certainly been busy, working with more bilingual babysitters than ever before with some exciting new events and landmarks reached.

We’ve had an incredible time this year and can’t wait to move on into 2019 with all of you by our side. If you’re not a member of the Mômji project, then we’d love to receive your application here!

Open House

In January we welcomed you to our Open House event. A promotional video, partnership with Lost in Frenchlation and snacks were all part of the party where ‘L’Auberge Espagnole’ was the film on show. We had a great time meeting old and new babysitters and matching them with families after enjoying the film provided by Lost in Frenchlation. It really was a super night and we can’t wait to do it again in January 2019!

Team Building

Before the summer heat kicked in, the Mômji team headed out of the city centre to a castle for some team building activities! A great chance for the Agency’s employees to develop important workplace skills in a fun environment, activities included three teams taking part in a tricky obstacle course… it’s fair to say some teams fared better than others!

Job Dating

job date

A popular fixture in the Mômji calendar, our Job Dating events give internationals in Paris a chance to meet us and find out more about our flexible and rewarding babysitting jobs. Just like a good-old-fashioned Speed Dating evening, it’s the same process but candidates can fall in love with a new job!

This year events took place in June and September as members of our HR Team were on hand to run interviews, answer questions and more. Look out for more in 2019!

World Cup

WC

How can anyone in France reflect on 2018 without talking about the World Cup? Football fever gripped the Mômji office during the competition, as the staff willed the national team onto victory. One afternoon staff sported appropriately coloured face paint in the office as the nation was glued to their screens!

Moving Office

new office

One of the most important events to happen for Mômji this year was the big move! Shifting office from near Republique to 27 Rue de Citeaux in the 12th arrondissement, the Mômji-Factory was created. With new, swanky interview rooms, great meeting spaces and a functional event area, the Mômji team couldn’t feel more at home.

Life Start Paris 2018

LSP

Another yearly event, this year’s Life Start Paris was a huge success. Partners such as Lost in Frenchlation, BeMyNest and Alliance Française gathered near the Pont d’Alma to help internationals in Paris find a job, accommodation and help with banking. A funny promotional video filmed on the bridge put a couple of our interns through their paces, but the result went down a treat online!

Halloween Party

The Mômji-Factory was in full use for this year’s Halloween Party. Just one of many monthly events for our babysitters, a grand spread of food and drink waited for our spooky sitters who enjoyed catching up, dancing and even tool part in a music intros quiz! We certainly had a great time on the night and by the smiles on our babysitters’ faces, we are sure they did too.

Mômji-Run

run

For the first time ever, 2018 saw the inauguration of the Mômji-Run. A dozen of the team took part in Odyssea’s fun five kilometer race to raise money to beat Cancer. Starting at the Hippodrome de Vincennes, a wet September morning couldn’t put our determined team off who all finished in great times! Bring on 2019!

The Press

2018 has been a great year in terms of recognition for Mômji. A host of news outlets and magazines have supported our language-sharing philosophy and published some really positive pieces on the agency! You can check them all out online here.

Christmas Party

Finally, every year ends with a great Christmas Party! We headed out to Bastille’s Rue de Lappe with over 60 Parisian babysitters to revel in some festivities. Christmas karaoke was on the cards with some surprisingly tuneful rendition of Yuletide classics.

There’s no way we could fit all of what we’ve done in 2018 into one article, we’ve certainly been busy. And none of this would be possible without our incredible Language Ambassadors who make everything possible – thank you for being part of the team! If you haven’t joined us yet… then what are you waiting for? 2019 is looking very exciting indeed… apply to join the team here!
