Why learn French in Paris?

In the French capital, it’s pretty rare that you won't get by just speaking English. The city is a tourist hotspot and the majority of Parisians have enough English under their belts to point you in the right direction on the street.

However, if you want to make the most of your time in Paris, mastering the French language is vital. Parisians respect foreigners who make an effort with the language and a smattering of French is a way into experiencing real Parisian culture.

So, what are you waiting for? Here are the best French courses in Paris.

Atelier 9

Renowned and well-rated French school, Atelier 9 has been running in a Parisian apartment since 2002. The school’s programmes are intensive crash-courses. Class limit is set at nine students for better interaction. With five classrooms in the school and a friendly student environment with kitchen appliances on offer, it’s fast become a popular chance among internationals as one of the best French courses out there.

There are intensive French courses of 80 hours a month, semi-intensive of 40 hours a month or evening courses with two 90 minute sessions per week. All the information about Atelier 9 can be found on latelier9.com.

Language Studies International (LSI)

Another popular choice for those wanting to brush up on their French is the LSI, located in the very centre of Paris. It’s a bit bigger than Atelier 9, with a maximum class size of 16 and seven classrooms available to use, as well as kitchen amenities, although also boasts good reviews.

There are courses for those 16 and older, as well as for younger learners between 12 and 17. Premium courses for individuals or groups no bigger than five are also available. Students can be put up in a host family too for further immersion. For more information, including a sample timetable, head over to lsi.edu.
