Why you should apply to babysitting and teaching after quarantine in France

babysitting teaching after quarantine in france

Earlier this month, Emmanuel Macron confirmed an extension to France’s lockdown amidst the global spread of COVID-19 that would last until May 11th at the earlier. The short term impact for the country’s community has been plain to see as cities’ streets empty and friends and family cannot be visited.

However, going forward and even when life begins to return to normal, the long-term impacts from COVID-19 will continue to be felt both economically and socially.

Here at Mômji, we are lucky to be in the childcare and teaching industry – one that will bounce back stronger than ever. In this article, we highlight some of the key reasons why now is just as good a time as ever to join the Mômji cause!

French families need you!

Fundamentally, the reason why babysitting and teaching jobs will remain relatively untouched is that they are relied on by families every day just so parents can work and children can go to school.

In 2020, working hours are demanding of parents and French school schedules can often be incompatible for families to work without some sort of childcare plan.

After COVID-19, with lots of lost time to make up for by professionals, hours could become even longer and more demanding, giving even more importance to childcare.

For our thousands of Language Ambassadors across the country, therefore, roles in the childcare industry will open up relatively quickly as society begins to readjust.

Kids need to carry on practicing foreign languages

Whether it be through teaching or babysitting, here at Mômji we are proud that our mission comes with a strong background in education.

Our multi-lingual pool of babysitters and teachers strive to pass on their language skills to children. Either through more formal teaching lessons or built into everyday babysitting activities through leading Montessori activities – it’s a goal at the heart of our mission.

What’s more, with many children losing up to half a year of schooling given the pandemic, there is lost ground to be made up for. You may think that for a young learner, a few months of classes is far from the end of the world.

However, it is proven that at these young ages minds are most capable of absorbing a new language. More than ever, the chance for parents to include language-learning into their daily lives is vital. Mômji and the language teaching industry will play a key role for those households.

The need to create a more connected world

On a more global scale, the COVID-19 pandemic has further proved the need for countries and organisations to work together. For French nationals, gaining fluency in English is already a huge asset to employment potential. Now, that will be doubly the case.

So, what is Mômji all about? We employ foreign-language speakers in France (English, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Russian and many more!) to take on babysitting and teaching roles.

Through everyday activities and/or one-on-one lessons, our Language Ambassadors give the gift of language to the learner.

If you’re an English-speaker and want to join the Mômji mission, ready for a role after COVID-19, we’d love to hear from you!
