A great place to study No 1: The American library in Paris

This is the international library you want to go to if you’re looking for a place with a large selection of american books and writers. As an international student in Paris, you will find a nice study hall as well as other areas that are perfect for after school hours.

The library was established in 1920 and can be found in the 7th arrondissement. Since its foundations its primary function has been educational and to bridge the gap between the USA and France.

To this day The American Library in Paris still has the biggest selection of Anglo-American/English literature on the European continent. Information about the many cultural events that the library organises throughout the year, can be found on its webpage.

The english library to go to if you’re looking for Anglo-American/English literature!When the Galignani Library was founded it was frequented by numerous Anglo-American writers, including Ernest Hemingway, and to this day a lot of cultural and political figures visit the library.

The library is easy to get to by public transport as it is situated in the city center and is an ideal place for English speaking students to go and study. The library has a big study hall where you can immerse yourself in the classics of English literature, while finding yourself sourrounded by woodwork which gives an amazing atmosphere.

The National Library is probably the most impressive library to be found in Paris and the most beautiful place to study as an international student in Paris. The library is constituted of monumental buildings with majestic halls, enchanting chandeliers and not to forget, walls covered with bookshelves full of books.

 

The library is situated in the heart of the city and contains an extraordinary collection of manuscripts, paintings and photographs, maps and charts, as well as all sorts of antiquities. With its enormous study hall the National Library is the perfect place to go to for students in Paris who wish to spend a couple of hours studying in peace and quiet after school. Besides, it’s a great place to go for international students who want to learn more about french literature and history.

A great place to study No 4: The international library, Fourney

The Fourney Library can be found in the 4th arrondissement, in the Marais neighbourhood. The library is one of the many specialised libraries in Paris whose collection is centred around arts and crafts as well as art and graphic arts and regularly organises exhibitions and events.

In addition to the french oeuvres, the library also has a foreign literature section where you can find English literature. Despite the fact that the Fourney Library primarily focuses on arts and crafts it has a wonderful study hall which makes it a lovely place to study, especially being an english student in Paris.
