TRANSLATION, THE IDEAL JOB TO PLAY WITH LANGUAGES

Native or bilingual, you like to transmit, share and break down the boundaries between languages? Translating can be a good fit for you: you'll do everything you can to enhance the value of an author's writing from one language to another.

Moreover, all languages are welcome: Dutch, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, English, ... whatever your mother tongue, all can be used in a translation job!

You can translate all types of content and text: company documents, site articles, etc. The formats you work on are varied, and you juggle words to restore the meaning of the original document.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO TAKE TO BECOME A TRANSLATOR IN FRANCE?

Quelles démarches pour faire de la traduction en France ?

Translation

You can apply to various companies as a staff translator, but not only: many of them work as freelance translators in order to keep their independence.

For this, you can choose between several statuses:

- The simplest one to start with: the auto entrepreneur status, which involves few administrative steps (you just have to fill in this document and send it to the URSSAF along with an ID card), and gives you a lot of freedom to work.

Be careful however: in this case, freelancers can't earn more than 2 500 euros per year!

- If your income exceeds this amount, you can then create an Individual Limited Liability Company (EIRL) or an Individual Company (EI).

Unlike the Franch auto-entrepreneur status, you can separate your professional and personal assets, and even have your operating expenses deducted!

You must also fill in this document and send it to the URSSAF, while attaching your identity card and a certificate of residence.

- If your activity develops further, you can then create a commercial company, such as a Limited Liability Company (EURL), or a Simplified Joint Stock Company (SASU).

This is possible if you want to hire employees or have shareholders invest, for example.

However, the steps to follow are a little more complicated: you will have to fill in the M0 form, publish an announcement in an approved newspaper, and file a file with the clerk's office.

We strongly advise you to be helped for this process!
